B.J. Arun was most recently the CEO of
July Systems (acquired by Cisco in June 2018), a leader in location-based, digital customer acquisition and multi-channel engagement
platform that enables enterprises to acquire customers at their physical locations, deliver rich
customer experiences and gain actionable location insights.
July's customers include Cisco,Harrods,IHG Hotels,ESPN, CNN, LVMH, Toys R Us, NBA, NFL, NBC Universal, Viacom, PGA Tour, Turner
Broadcasting,Wall Street Journal, News Corp, AT&T, Verizon, and CBS with a service footprint in
over 100 countries, reaching over 150 million users and driving billions of transactions annually.
Arun also co-founded and was formerly CEO of Librato a San Francisco based provider of complete
solutions for monitoring and understanding the metrics that impact business at all levels of the
stack.Librato was acquired by Solar Winds (NYSE: SWI) in January 2015.
Prior to Librato, Arun founded and was CEO of California Digital and ran the company profitably
since its inception in 1994. Arun orchestrated the acquisition of the assets of VA Linux Systems
(Nasdaq: LNUX) in 2001 which catapulted California Digital into a market leadership position in the
space of Linux based High Performance Computing and related software services.
Under his leadership, California Digital deployed North America and Europe's fastest Supercomputer
'Thunder' at the Lawrence Livermore National Labs in 2004. Arun is the Presidentof TiESilicon Valley,
The Indus Entrepreneurs, anot-for-profit global network of entrepreneurs and professionals dedicated
to the advancement of entrepreneurship and has been a Charter Member since 1994.He was previously
Convener for TiEcon2015 & 2016, the world's largest conference for entrepreneurs (5,000+ attendees,
200+ speakers)as well as Board Member/ CM Chair. Arun was appointed to the Board of the San
Francisco Bangalore Sister City Initiative by the Mayor of San Francisco on June 2016 and
continues to play a significant rolepromoting trade as well as culture between the two cities.
Arun served two terms on the Board of Advisors for Intel Corporation and currently sits on the on
the boards of many privately held companiesand charities.In addition to various awards and
recognitions, Arun was awarded the prestigious 'Karnataka Rajyotsava Day Award' by the Chief
Minister of Karnataka on November 1st, 2004.
