About This Talk
Data is the lifeblood of healhcare ecosystem. It needs to deliver the actionable insights anywhere, anytime, that all entities need to survive in this new world order. Let us understand what this data is, where is it coming from, and possible effective policies and regulation around its usage, sharing, and security. Finally how partnerships need to evolve amongst several stakeholders to leverage the insights around this data.

Dr. Peter Fitzgerald is Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Technology at Stanford University Medical School, and Co-founder/Managing Partner at Triventures. He is an Interventional Cardiologist and has a PhD in Engineering. He is Professor Emeritus in the Departments of Medicine and Engineering at Stanford. He has led or participated in over 150 clinical trials, published over 450 manuscripts/chapters, and lectures worldwide. Peter has been principle/founder of 24 healthcare companies in Silicon Valley, has transitioned 18 of these start-ups to medium/large-cap life science companies and remains on several of their advisory boards. He has been a consultant for the FDA for the past 15 years focused on medical technology and more recently, digital health. Prior, Peter was a co-founding partner of LVP capital in San Francisco, deriving his experience in venture capital from three funds focused on medical device and biotechnology start-ups. Peter is co-founder and managing partner of Triventures and heads the US office. Peter currently participates on the boards of: Cala Health, Cathworks, Day Zero Diagnostics, FemSelect, Genoox, HealthReveal, V-wave. Past Triventures’ portfolio companies where Peter participated on the boards include: Apica, MST, Orthospace and Zingbox.
Tarannum Guller, MD, chief medical officer, is an Internal Medicine trained, career hospitalist, most recently serving as a senior executive providing hospitalist and intensivist services across California and the country. Dr. Guller received her medical degree from the Pravara Institute of Medical Science, India and completed her residency at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. She has a Masters in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University and was Chief Resident for her residency program. Dr. Guller is patient centric and brings a passion for world-class quality and service. She has worked both for profit and not for profit as well as non profit healthcare entities. She was recently honored by Silicon Valley Business Journal at their Women of Influence event for her work during the COVID pandemic in the county of Santa Clara.

Sara Vaezy is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Digital Officer for Providence where she is responsible for system strategy and digital innovation for the integrated delivery network (IDN) which includes 52 hospitals and 1,085 clinics and serves over 5 million unique patients. Sara brings deep experience to the organization in both digital and enterprise strategy development and leads system strategy, the ongoing development and evolution of Providence’s integrated strategic and financial plan and cross-collaboration of the Providence councils as Providence continues to advance toward and design the system of the future. Sara is the architect of the Providence digital innovation model upon with the Digital Innovation Group (DIG) was founded, resulting in company partnerships and incubation of technologies that deliver value for Providence as well as other health systems. Sara is active in the broader healthcare industry serving as an NCQA Board Director, as a member of inaugural class of the Frist Cressey Ventures Collective, a Harvard Executive Education Faculty Member, a Health Evolution Forum Fellow, World 50 Digital 50 member, a Forbes Business Council Member, and a board observer for DexCare. She has won numerous awards and has been recognized as a Business Insider 30 under 40 Transforming the Future of Healthcare (2019), Catholic Health Association Tomorrow’s Leader (2019), a Becker’s Rising Star in Health IT (2020), and a Becker’s Women to Watch in Health IT (2020 & 2022). She holds an MHA and an MPH in Health Policy from the University of Washington School of Public Health and BAs in Physics and Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley.
