BrightCHAMPS
A global pandemic and multi-country lockdowns were just the catalysts. In reality, it was a lifetime of unconventional, non-institutional learning that led to the birth of Ravi Bhushan's BrightCHAMPS in August 2020. He had always known that traditional educational systems lacked the agility to impart the ever-changing life skills that kids will need in future, and were unable to fast-track learning for kids who are hungry for more, but the learning loss during Covid made the feeling just that much more acute. Ravi's penchant for subverting the norm started at the tender age of 7, when he formulated a homeschooling plan with his grandfather, a revolutionary educationist in his own right, despite his family's apprehensions. He later went on to graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi, but not before sweeping every coding honor in every IIT festival in the country, including the prestigious Yahoo Global Hackathon, presided by Yahoo co-founder David Filo himself. It's no wonder then, that Ravi is leading the charge for global educational innovation, with operations spanning over 30 countries already, and more being added every day. He is committed to the cause of skilling children from the age of 6 to 16 in a wide range of next-generation life skills such as coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, design thinking, and financial literacy. To quote Ravi's vision in his own words, "When I started college, I was criticized for dreaming of a computer science degree without ever having a computer in my life. It fueled me to be the best coder it was in my power to be. But it also made me realize the importance of early exposure and skilled guidance in a student's life. We exist to bridge the wide gap between school education and kids' real learning needs. Our aim is to empower students all over the world to be technologically, financially, and socially smart".
This crystal-clear vision, coupled with a data-backed growth plan, has enabled Ravi to secure a distinguished set of investors, such as Premji Invest the investment office of Wipro Founder Azim Premji, GSV Ventures, Flipkart's Binny Bansal-backed 021 Capital and Singapore-based venture fund Beenext. A self-professed lover of technology and product lover, Ravi chooses to work with a handpicked team of industry-leading experts from Goa, building, what he calls, "The best edtech company in the world" that operates on the PPP formula - people come first, then comes product, both of which enable profit for everyone. Over the years, he has donned multiple avatars in renowned companies such as Decho Corporation, Syncapse, Clickable, Housing.com (Elara Group) and PropTiger to help them achieve technological revamp, revenue, and growth goals, before becoming an angel investor and advisor to other startups in 2019, a role he still enjoys, and finally launching BrightCHAMPS in 2020. Ravi's current focus lies in fortifying BrighCHAMPS' purpose of ensuring the highest return on education (ROE) for kids and parents around the world by building an iconic brand that is synonymous with high quality education across important life skills.
