Kamil is a General Partner at Hitek Venture Partners, which he founded in 1995 for early stage investments in high technology companies. He has invested, directed and managed portfolio companies in over 30 high tech companies. He is also a General Partner at Granite Hill India Opportunities PE Fund, which invests in private Indian companies requiring growth capital. Kamil is a Charter Member of TiE, and a Trustee of UC Santa Cruz, India Community Center and American India Foundation. He earned his B.S degree from AMU, M.S. from MIT and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. He taught at IIT, Delhi, and Stanford University, before founding his first high tech company. He was the first South Asian to be appointed as a member of the Democratic National Committee, and was a Superdelegate at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
