Nineteen Years of Fostering Entrepreneurship
TiE was created for entrepreneurs – by entrepreneurs. In Silicon Valley. That was itself a dramatic act of daring. TiE’s founders were audacious. Who but they could have imagined that their idea would so rapidly become a unique society of over 15,000 members in 56 cities and 13 countries?

And we are still counting – still growing strong. We are making a great impact, economically and socially. We create more worth, more wealth in our communities and we give back by creating more opportunities for others.

Here at TiE, we challenge our members. We expect them to pioneer, to exceed expectations. Usually they do. That’s because we also support our members with the essential tools of our trade. We inspire them, inform them and educate them. We share a wealth of knowledge, of judgment, of experience. We offer a far-reaching network of references and opportunities. We provide leadership, event to leaders.

Welcome to TiEcon 2011, the 18^th year of the World’s Largest Conference for Entrepreneurs. Meant to always to relevant, inspirational and forward-looking, it is a culmination of six months of design, planning and production by our members who volunteer their time and talent and enlist world-class speakers and sponsors, who also generously volunteer their time and talent and offer financial support. I am deeply indebted to them.
